Health Screenings
Early detection is key in preventing and treating many health problems and diseases.
Talk with your doctor about health screenings that may be right for you.
Blood pressure - Have your blood pressure
checked at least every two years. High
blood pressure is 140/90 or higher.
Bone density (ages 40+) – Bone health is
important to your overall health. Ask your
doctor if a bone density screening is right for
you.
Cholesterol (ages 35+) – Have your
cholesterol checked annually. Lowering your
cholesterol can reduce your risk for heart
disease.
Depression – Your emotional health is as
important as your physical health. If you
have felt sad or hopeless over the last two
weeks, talk to your doctor about being
screened for depression.
Diabetes - Diabetes screening is important
for staying healthy. Have a test for diabetes
if you have high blood pressure or high
cholesterol. Talk with your doctor about a
screening schedule that is right for you.

Mammogram (ages 40+) – Annual
mammograms are one of the best tools for
finding breast cancer early. Clinical breast
exams are performed in the office starting at
age 21 every three years. After the age of 40,
breast exams are performed annually.
