Sign In and Out
It is very important that our volunteers sign in when they arrive and sign out before they leave. We make it easy by giving you four touch screen locations where you can sign in and out. They are located in the following areas:
- Volunteer Office, 1st floor of Medical Mall
- Information Desk, 2nd floor of Medical Mall by the main entrance
- Volunteer Transport office located on the 1st floor by the visitor elevators
- Flower Desk at the Carondelet Heart Institute entrance
Read Your Vic Mail.jpg)
When you sign in you will sometimes find messages that tell you about updates, upcoming events and new procedures. Be sure to take the time to read your mail.
Call If You Will Be Absent
Your presence is valued and our staff and patients count on you to arrive on time and stay for your entire shift. It is very important that you call if you will be absent or locate a substitute if this is a requirement for your volunteer position.
Dress in Uniform.jpg)
Your uniform identifies you as a volunteer. We ask that you wear a white or navy shirt with a dark or khaki skirt or dress slacks. Students wear purple polos. Logo attire and student polos are available in the Volunteer Services office.
An important part of your uniform is your hospital volunteer badge which should be worn on the upper part of your body.
Make-up should be modest; jewelry should be kept simple. Cologne or aftershave should not be worn if your volunteer position includes any patient interaction.
Hose or socks are required with footwear. Please do not wear jeans, shorts or sleeveless tops. Some positions may have uniform variations.
