Patient Rights
< Back | Next >
As part of HIPAA regulations, each patient is provided with a Notice of Privacy document that explains their privacy rights. Included is their right to submit a complaint if they feel their rights have been violated. If a patient indicates that he or she wants to file a complaint, please refer them to the patient representative or the house supervisor.
Confidential Patients
Some patients request to be placed under confidential status. Information about a confidential patient cannot be accessed by any volunteer. Inquirers will be told that “this person is either not a patient or has chosen not to have his or her information released.”
