The physical, emotional and financial toll of pain cannot easily be calculated. Pain severely disrupts lives. Apart from the physical suffering, It can cause severe emotional issues like depression, it keeps people from holding down productive jobs, prevents positive interaction with family and friends and the enjoyment of life itself.

Pain management services evolved as a result of recognizing that pain and suffering often go under-treated. The Pain Management Clinic at St. Joseph Medical Center, established in the early 1980s, grew to meet an increasing need for a focus on the devastating fallout from the onset of injury or disease. Most currently, evaluation of our daily practice revealed agreement with publized standards recommended by the JCAHO (Joint Commission).
