Medical Directors

Lon C. McCroskey, MD, FACS

Lon McCroskey, MD, is a medical director and breast surgeon in the Breast Center at St. Joseph Medical Center. He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1976 and completed his residency at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Minnesota. Dr. McCroskey has played a large role in the development of the Breast Concordance and Breast Center Conferences. He stays informed of the latest information by attending several breast conferences each year. He is specially trained in oncoplasty surgery. Dr. McCroskey is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and is committed to the treatment and care of
his patients.

Richard G. Kuckelman, MD

Richard Kuckelman, MD, is a medical director and board certified radiologist in the Breast Center at St. Joseph Medical Center. He graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1989 and completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Kansas. Dr. Kuckelman is recognized as one of the foremost radiologists regarding breast cancer detection in Kansas City. He was the FIRST in the city to offer MRI guided breast biopsies and therefore his expertise is highly regarded as other facilities send their patients to him for biopsy. Dr. Kuckelman genuinely cares about his patients and makes their comfort and understanding of each exam top priority.
