Donor Funded Projects
Our history is a legacy of caring & support
In past years, foundation donors funded projects that span the many needs of the medical center and the patients we serve. These include:
- Building the Community Center for Health & Education
- Renovation of the Intensive Care Unit
- Renovation/expansion of Emergency Department & Pain Clinic
- Equipment for neurosurgery
- MRI guided breast biopsy system for the Breast Center
- Cardiac monitoring system for the ICU
- Isolettes and monitors for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
- Renovation of St. Joseph Maternity Center
- 64-slice CT scanner for cardiac imaging and other needs
- Equipment for the Carondelet Heart Institute and Vascular Center for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer in the St. Joseph Breast Center
Funding for these projects and more totals approximately $20,000,000 during the past 25 years.
Current Needs: Quality Healthcare and Community Service
The foundation is currently seeking funds for projects that include:
- Healthy Beginnings - This program provides counseling for socially at-risk pregnant women. Through one-to-one relationships with OB nurses, patients are encouraged to adopt healthy lifestyle choices including good nutrition, cessation of smoking and alcohol, and learn about parenting and child safety.
- Seniors Clinic - The Seniors Clinic provides free wheelchair transportation to and from our clinic for more than 1,700 patient visits per year. Homebound and nursing home patients, who find it very difficult to get to doctor appointments, can see their physician at the Seniors Clinic. Convenient appointments can mean that illnesses and chronic conditions are treated before they need emergency or inpatient care.
- Mission Fund - Contributions help St. Joseph patients who have financial needs - those who are uninsured or cannot afford their medications or home health equipment. We are called to provide healthcare that leaves no one behind.
- Education - Funding to support opportunities for continuing education for our nurses and other associates ensuring that the highest quality healthcare is available to our patients.
