The Breast Center at
St. Joseph Medical Center has earned accreditation by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers. Accreditation by the NAPBC is only given to those centers that have voluntarily committed to provide the highest level of quality breast care and that undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance. The Breast Center at St. Joseph was recognized for creating clinical best practices in the areas of: navigation, breast cancer surveillance, breast cancer staging and evaluation and management of benign breast disease.
The Breast Center at St. Joseph Medical Center has been designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR). This prestigious designation means the Breast Center at St. Joseph has earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound (including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy)..
The Breast Center provides state-of-the-art mammography from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, and walk-in mammograms from 8-11:30 a.m., and 1-4 p.m. You don't need a physician referral for a mammogram. To schedule an appointment with the Breast Center, call 816-943-3173.

The Breast Center is committed to caring for the bodies, minds and spirits of our paitents. Breast cancer affects not just the patient, but families too. We strive to provide the latest technologies and programs to both support and educate breast cancer patients and their families throughout the Kansas City area.
Early detection and prompt treatment are key in battling this disease. Our mission is to provide state-of-the-art, compassionate care to all Breast Center patients.
Continuity of care is emphasized through a multidisciplinary approach, which involves the patient, their families and physician in the decision-making process.
The comprehensive program at the Breast Center includes dedicated technologists, radiologists, pathologists, surgeons, plastic surgeons, and radiation and medical oncologists. The Breast Center provides a Certified Breast Patient Navigator, a specialist in oncology and education, to guide patients through the treatment process after a breast cancer diagnosis. The nurse navigator also provides emotional support and education. Our registered mammography, ultrasound and MRI technologists offer care unmatched within the community.
The Breast Center is MQSA (Mammography Quality Standards Act) certified and accredited by the American College of Radiology. Mammogram results are interpreted by a board-certified radiologist with the assistance of the newest computer aided diagnosis (CAD) system.
